Batam: Pulau Labun Island

I went Pulau Labun Island, private island at Batam with my friends from 8 to 10 August 2019. This is the super peak period because of our National Day fall on 9 Aug, Friday and followed by Hari Raya Haji on 11 Aug, Monday. This is our first trip, hence, my friends decided to stay 3 days 2 nights. Otherwise, some of them want to stay 4 days 3 nights.

We booked this resort about three months in advance. When I met the Labun admin staff at Harbourfront Centre on early Jun to make the deposit payment, he told me all the rooms were fully booked.

8 Aug, we took 10:50am Majestic Fast Ferry at Harbourfront Terminal . The terminal was very crowded as expected.

Fortunately, everything goes smoothly, the ferry staff quite organised.

The ferry was big and clean. Mineral water (cup type) were provided. During the journey, the wave consider quite choppy. I closed my eyes and imagined I was sitting on the rocking chair to overcome my seaside. One hour passed, we arrived at Batam Terminal.

But, we couldn't disembark yet, the captain announced: "Custom was very very very crowded." Therefore, we waited patiently on our seat. Soon, we were allowed to disembark.

My friend suggested to take the "express checkout" as the queues were very long.

After checkout, we found our driver, finally, we sat in the van and relaxed😌.

The journey took about 1 hour and 20 minutes. On the way, we could see the beautiful Barelang Bridge, the first bridge our van passed by. After crossed a few bridges, we reached Pulau Labun Mersing, the staff already waited for us for the boat transfer to the island.

The boat has lower and upper deck. It took about 10 mins to reach Pulau Labun Island.

Although we don't have free coconut drinks, we glad that free can drinks, coffee and bottle material water were provided every meals, Beers? No free, need to pay.

Beautiful scenery and windy, good for relaxation, fresh air for free, breath in as much as you can!

Wild watermelon! We were surprised to see small water melon grow at the seaside!

The picture behind me are the very hardworking anglers, fishing early in the morning, afternoon and night until sleeping time, non-stop fishing, even under the hot sun.

Cuttlefish: We caught quite a lot cuttlefish😊 but...lost quite a lot of "sotong" jigs, stuck on the rock😒.

Many small fishes, groupers and this fish, catch and release.

This fish is colorful but very poisonous. Do not touch. Released it without touching, handled by professional angler by using plier.

Snorkeling at the island: Snorkeling gear and life jackets are provided. Wear properly, don't let the water go in.

Look at the clear water sea, we were enjoyed snorkeling with two life guards. One person was at the top supervised us to make sure we don't go beyond the snorkeling area, another person was snorkeling with us. The resort really taking care of their guests safety, I gave them a Big Thumb up - 赞.
